New Colors

I've been working on a new color collection for some time now and I've finally settled on the shimmering metallics I like best! I may add more ;) I've seperated the original 3 metallic colors (gold, silver & copper) from the opaque color chart and added them to this NEW chart. Metallic gold is now called "New Gold". In addition to the rainbow of bright metallic colors, I'm offering a few brand new choices in metallic browns and a metallic gunmetal gray.

All of these new colors are available in all of the 10 round pupil sizes as well as the 5 oval cat pupil sizes. When time permits, I'll be adding these choices to all of the listings for my "made to order" packs. In the meantime, you can contact me on Etsy for a package that meets your needs.

Speckles, Spots & Polka Dots

Custom Requests are always fun and after filling an order for a few polka dot eyes, I thought I'd list a few packs in the shop...

The orange yellow pack has a leopard cheetah -ish look. The pink, mint and white pack reminds me of a 50's sock hop ;D

These packs are 18mm and are currently available in my shop. If you'd like a different size or color combination you can fill out a request form here.

1) Ch 17, turn, sc in next 6, 3 sc in next st, sc in next 9. Ch 3 (toe) sl st in last sc to bind off, weave in your ends.

Assembly:

Stack 4 legs in the same direction with toes facing outward and thread your 12" yarn tail through the top st of each. Sew the group of legs to the last round of the body. Repeat this on the opposite side with legs facing in the opposing direction.

Use your slicker brush to fuzz up the yarn on the body and head. Small, fast strokes work best :D

Always fuzz your yarn BEFORE you add embellishments. You don't want to scratch the eyes!

Attach safety eyes, (evenly spaced) to round 3 of the head. Sew a dime sized piece of felt between the eyes for a nose (you can use fabric glue or liquid stitches if you prefer but this is permanent).

Stuff the head firmly with polyester fiber fill. Using the remaining 12" from your bind off, sew the head to the body over the joint of the legs. The legs should protrude from between the head and body.If necessary, add more stuffing when the head is an inch away from being completely sewn on, before you close and bind off. Finish sewing and weave in your ends.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN...

Love and Care in each pair

Enami Eyes are high-quailty, hand-painted acrylic safety eyes. I started painting craft eyes because the manufactured colors were limited and many turned out to be factory spray painted in China. The fear of lead paint was a big issue, especially after the Fischer Price lead-paint scare in June 2007. Although nothing I design is ever sold for or intended to be mouthed or chewed on, after working with children for over 10 years I know that anything is possible and reasonable safety precautions should always be taken. I wanted a safe alternative to store bought eyes.

After hundreds of hours of experimenting with various paints and stains and contacting manufacturers, I developed my line of Enami Eyes. All of the beatutiful handpainted colors I offer are non-toxic and lead-free and conform to the labeling standards of the Art and Creative Materials Institute, Inc.

Not only was safety important to me, durability was as well. That's why I tested and re-tested Enami Eyes in the washing machine. The paints and stains I use are highly water resistant - water-proof and can withstand machine washing in COOL/WARM water with DETERGENT, but NO BLEACH. They actually stood up to more rigorous testing but I like to aire on the side of caution to prolong their beauty. Whatever you affix Enami Eyes to can be washed (assuming the item itself is washable in water) without damaging the paint finish or bleeding onto the fabric. MACHINE DRYING and DRY CLEANING ARE NOT RECOMMENDED.

I hope you enjoy my selection of handpainted Enami Eyes.

♥Lots of love and care go into each pair ♥
